SAMUEL USHER, BORN 1591 ENGLAND, compiled by E. Frank Melton and Brenda Kelley Melton.  The Usher family migration to the Pee Dee area of South Carolina progressed from sixteenth century England, through Boston, MA (1600's), Rhode Island (mid-1700's), and Richmond County, NC (late 1700's). By the early 1800's we find brothers George and John P. Usher residing in Marlboro County, SC. The known descendants of George Usher continued their migration to Stewart County, GA and beyond. Many of the eleven children and numerous grandchildren of John P.
