The Darlington Flag Newsletter

Beasley Trails: Descendants of John & Margaret Beasley, by Frank Miller Richey.  292 pages, plus full name index.  Today’s challenge, how to write an original, fresh sounding book review on what must be the fortyelevendozenth Trails book by Frank Richey.  Those of you who have tuned in this column before, know the plot well.  The author has selected the Beasley family to be the subject of his latest efforts to identify all know descendants of the progenitors (in this case, John and Margaret Beasley of Darlington County).  Over the next nine generations Richey has methodically given the basic genealogical data on each individual listed.  As in past Trails, the children of the progenitors have married into numerous other Darlington families.  These in-laws include members of these families:  Hudson, Woodham (subject of Richey’s Woodham Trails), Bramblett, Thompson, Pipkin, Moore, and McLendon.  These descendants have spread all across our great land, including one noted descendant who presently inhabits the South Carolina Governor’s Mansion.  Happy Trails to you, until we meet again..... Price: $60.00 plus $4.00 shipping for first book and $1.50 for each additional book.
