Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Mondays, 1:00 To 5:00 p.m.

SPRING SCHEDULE 2012-   The Hartsville Genealogical Research Library (114 South Fourth Street, Hartsville) will be CLOSED Sunday, March 2nd (ODDC Meeting at the Darlington County Historical Commission); Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, March 22nd – 24th (Easter Weekend); Saturday, April 5th (SCGS Board Meeting, Columbia); Sunday, May 11th (Mother’s Day); Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, May 24th – 26th (Memorial Day Weekend). For additional information call 843-857-0300.

Also Open by Appointment. Please Call in Advance for an appointment during non-operational hours. (Many of our volunteers work full time jobs):

Highlights of 2005 Meetings

     May 1st, 2005Monthly Meeting - Joint Monthly Meeting with Chesterfield Chapter,
Location: Hartsville Genealogical Research Library (114 
                                    South Fourth Street, Hartsville, SC). Time: 3:00 p.m. Speaker: Ferrell

                                    Topic: Using Surveyors Techniques to Solve Genealogical
                                    Problems. This program provided a short overview of the 
                                    information contained in deeds and on plats and what can be learned 
                                    by using a surveyor’s method of research and analysis. 

                                    Mr Prosser has been a Professional Land Surveyor since 1963 in SC, NC,
                                    and GA.
He was the first surveyor appointed to the SC Board of
                                    Engineering & Surveying Examiners. He served as SC Geodetic
                                    Coordinator from 1978 – 1986.
